A strong showing for Road Racing Series at Daytona
12.30.2009 In a time when America is still struggling through difficult economic times, the racers of the Dunlop Tire Road Racing Series driven by Mazda continue to flock to Daytona Intl Speedway in the midst of the holiday season. Daytona KartWeek by Cometic Gasket has so far been another good one. Speedway Dirt entry counts are fairly strong considering the tough season the Southeast touring season just went through, and Manufacturers Cups Margay Sprint Championships again have over 500 entries and a number of classes that saw more than 35 racers attempt to make the final field. 12.28.2009 Tracks on the Dunlop Tire Road Racing Series driven by Mazda schedule tend to change from year to year. Facilities like New Hampshire, Summit Point and Charlotte were once staple events on the Road Racing tour, only to be replaced by new or revamped tracks such as Kershaw, VIR and New Jersey. However, Daytona Intl Speedway with exception to Indianapolis the most famous track in America continues as the host of Race No. 1 for each new Road Racing season. Daytona has been hosting the Daytona Championships for the National Road Racing Series for over 30 years, and each year road racers from all over the eastern half of the country and even some from the West Coast head to the Sunshine State for another running of this esteemed event. 12.28.2009 Its no secret that the Briggs & Stratton Speedway Dirt Series has struggled as of late to gain entry counts and racer support in the series that once was the strongest of all five WKA national tours. But back in the late summer / early fall months of 2009, a renewed sense of enthusiasm spread throughout the world of oval-track dirt-kart racing when Daytona Intl Speedway announced its plans to build a brand-new, state-of-the-art quarter-mile dirt oval on the grounds of the World Center of Racing.
