gc logo.2012CONCORD, N.C. – A couple of hard-nosed senior racers will leave Carolina Motorsports Park this October 4-6 with a cool $250 in their pocket thanks to a special award never done before at a WKA RLV Tuned Exhaust Products Gold Cup event.

The Saturday and Sunday Senior Pro Gas Animal points classes at the Carolina Clash presented by Jammer Clutches & Performance North will feature a special Hard Charger award that will pay $250 to the winner each day.

The Hard Charger Award is defined as the driver who advances the most positions in the feature event, i.e., the driver who passes the most karts from the start to the finish of the race.

If two drivers advance an equal amount of positions, the tiebreaker will go to the driver who finishes best.

An example is as follows.

Driver A starts the feature in 10th position and finishes 3rd, advancing seven positions.

Driver B starts the feature in 15th position and finishes 8th, advancing seven positions.

Driver A will win the $250 Hard Charger Award because he/she finished better than Driver B.

With the just-announced $700 purse ($500 to win) added for Animal Medium, the Hard Charger Awards bring the tally to an awesome $3,200 plus a slew of merchandise awards for senior racers at the Kershaw Gold Cup season closer.

Pre-registration for the Carolina Clash presented by Jammer Clutches & Performance North is open through Wednesday, Sept. 25.
