GARYSBURG, N.C. – Last fall the 2014 WKA VEGA / TS Racing National Road Racing Series schedule of events was announced and included a new venue that the national tour will visit this August 22-24.
The new venue – the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research – is a two-mile road course located just south of the Virginia / North Carolina line near Interstate 95. The track is in a terrific location for east coast competitors, and the nearby city of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., provides racers and families with a wide variety of hotels, grocery stores and restaurants.
Since WKA and NCCAR officials confirmed the national event date, work has been done to institute a regional event prior to the August WKA national.
Woodbridge Kart Club has joined the NCCAR / WKA partnership to bring a WKC regional event to NCCAR this April 26-27. WKC officials visited NCCAR on March 15 to view the property and witness a motorcycle event that was taking place.
The following PDF is a letter and facility map from WKC president Rodney Smith and the WKC Board of Directors to its membership regarding this April’s karting event at NCCAR.
WKC and/or WKA racers who are planning to attend this April’s regional at NCCAR or the August national are urged to read the following to prepare yourself with this new road-race karting venue.
