KERSHAW, S.C. – The second rounds of the 2014 World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup and Road Racing series take center stage in the 2-cycle karting community this with a doubleheader event at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina.
The Road Racing Series, title sponsored by VEGA tires, TS Racing and Mazda, will run its first event since Daytona this past December with the running of the Johnny Jacumin Memorial at CMP’s 2.3-mile main road course. This is the 15th annual spring WKA Road Race at Kershaw – named in respect to its original promoter with WKA.
The Manufacturers Cup Series, title sponsored by Bridgestone and Mazda, will also run its first event since Daytona with the Mazda Zoom Zoom Nationals running on the 0.7-mile sprint course. Many of the top 2-cycle sprint teams from across the eastern half of the United States will be in the rural land of South Carolina for the fourth annual event. HYTORC of Texas Parilla Senior, open to IAME Leopard and X30 powerplants, will pay $1,000 to win while Parilla Junior will pay $500 to win posted by Arai Helmet and Butler Built Seat Technology.
Gates open for parking Thursday at 9 a.m. Pre-tech and registration will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Practice will run all day Friday with full days of racing scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
