CONCORD, N.C. – The final national event of the 2012 World Karting Association season goes off this weekend at Roebling Road Raceway near Savannah, Georgia, where the WKA VEGA / TS Racing Road Racing Series driven by Mazda closes its seven-race national tour.
The Roebling Road Nationals, hosted by the Southern Kart Club, will run this Friday through Sunday at the historic 2.02-mile road course. In addition to serving as the last race of the 2012 WKA national circuit, the event is the fourth and final round of the 2012 SKC club schedule.
It also marks the fourth national weekend in a row for WKA. Summit Point Road Racing kicked off September, the Manufacturers Cup ran Sept. 14-16 at New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana and the Gold Cup Series was in action last weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
National championships for the Road Racing’s 40-plus classes will be on the line this weekend at Roebling. The series hasn’t run the eastern Georgia track since it opened last year’s national tour in February 2011.
Pit pass sales will begin today (Thursday) at 6 p.m. Pre-entry pickup will run tonight from 7 to 9 p.m.
A full day of practice will run Friday before seven race groups Saturday and six groups to conclude the weekend and the season on Sunday.
