SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The West Coast’s one stop shop for all oval track racing needs is stepping up to the plate in three powerful ways to assist young racers for 2013. First on deck, Star Racing Supply will be offering sponsorship to winning drivers in the renowned Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle Driver Development Program Talent Search/Shoot-Out.
Star will provide each winning driver $16,000 to $25,000 for car racing sponsorships in USAC and NASCAR series races, for up to 20 drivers total. That is a $60,000 increase over last year, bringing the grand total to $380,000 in sponsorship dollars awarded to the talented drivers entered in this prestigious annual driver talent search conducted by Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle.
In addition, Star Racing Supply has committed to sponsor the USAC NorCal Ignite Midget Series again in 2013, with some unique and impressive prizes for the top drivers. Star has coordinated and sponsored six test drives to be awarded to top finishing young drivers, ages 12 to 20, in the 2013 USAC NorCal Ignite Midget Championship Series.
The test drives include fully funded 100 lap tests in higher level cars, with top race teams. The top test prize is 100 laps of valuable seat time and coaching in a NASCAR K&N Pro Series Stock Car with Bill McAnally Racing. The other test drives, also 100 laps, include a USAC Pavement car with Tony Hunt Motorsports, NASCAR Late Model stock car with Bill McAnally Racing, NASCAR Modified stock car with Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle, and a spot in the Ron Sutton's Winner's Circle 2013 Shoot-Out in either a Midget or Modified. The 2013 series champion, providing they meet the criteria, will have first pick, the runner up will have second pick and so on through fifth place.
The sixth prize is specifically for the top finishing young “rookie driver” that starts the season under 14 years of age with restrictors. This test prize is a 100 lap test in an unrestricted Ignite Midget with RSWC. The test drive awards are designed to help young racers in the series gain experience in the next level of race cars in hopes of moving up the motorsports ladder.
Maybe the biggest news of the coming year, is Star Racing Supply will be hosting an extensive oval track workshop featuring famous NASCAR Crew Chief Larry McReynolds. The two-day racers workshop will cover all aspects of pavement oval track stock car chassis setup, modern engines, tuning, winning strategies and team building. This workshop is ideal for all oval track racers, crew members, crew chiefs and anyone who wants to learn more about racing stock cars on pavement ovals.
In addition to legendary Larry McReynolds sharing his years of wisdom over the two days, will be expert trainers from Roush Yates Racing Engines, Comp Cams, Ignite Ethanol Racing Fuels, Competition Carburetion, Draco Springs and Naake Suspension.
The workshop will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Sacramento, California on January 5th and 6th. For more information, or tickets, visit www.StarRacingSupply.com or visit The Racer’s Store at 8581 Younger Creek Drive, Sacramento, CA 95828 or call (916) 914-1284.
