New Format And New Engines For TaG Class
10.25.2007 - WKA announces a new format and new engines for the Bridgestone/George Kugler Manufacturers Cup Series driven by Mazda TAG class TAG is one of the most popular and fastest growing classes in the Manufacturers Cup series. In recognition of this growth, WKA announces that the class will now be called TAG 1 and TAG 2. TAG 1 will run the first day of each Manufacturer's Cup event, and TAG 2 will run the second day. A single championship will be awarded.
In addition WKA has approved three new engines and one updated engine for the 2008 competition year. These include the Cheetah SQ125, Motori Seven, and the Vortex Rok TT. In addition a new cylinder has been approved for the PRD Fire Ball engine. Note that the Italsistem ML47H is no longer an approved engine. Following is a complete list of engines and weights for the Manufacturer's Cup Series.

The weights and engine specifications will be reviewed after the second Manufacturers Cup event of the 2008 season. WKA will make every effort to level the playing field among engine manufacturers. Performance differences among the various manufacturers will be adjusted by kart weight or restrictions to the engine or exhaust system.
