Gears Up For 2008 Season
11.20.2007 – The 2008 Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series is just around the corner. Before the season can be labeled complete, the champions and their fellow competitors must be honored at the Annual Awards Banquet to be held in Hickory, NC January 26, 2008 at the Hickory Metro Convention Center in conjunction with KartFest 2008. (See the Pavement Banquet and KartFest 2008 links at top of this page for more information). The new season brings a few rule changes as well as a new schedule for 2008.

Significant rule changes for the 2008 season are in the Briggs Jr Sportsman 1 Lite and Heavy and the Briggs Jr Sportsman 2 Lite and Heavy classes, which will be running Animal engines only in 2008. The other change is in the Briggs Jr Champ Raptor class, which will run both days for a single championship. For the complete run down of classes click here. For more information on the rules and regulations for the 2008 racing season, please refer to the 2008 Technical Manual. Tire procedures for 2008 will remain as they were in the 2007 season.

The season will begin in March of 2008 at one of the favorite pavement tracks on the east coast, OCR Action Sports Park in Rougemont, NC to which they will return at the end of the ’08 season for the Grand National event.
