New brake rule for the Road Race Series
06.24.2010 – WKA announces a new brake rule that will require a secondary linkage between the brake pedal and the master cylinders. This rule will be effective November 1, 2010. However, competitors are encouraged to install a system as soon as possible and take it through pre-race tech inspection at the next NRRS event. Here is the rule:

There must be a second link between the brake pedal and the master cylinder that will function in the event that the primary linkage fails. The secondary linkage must not interfere with the operation of the primary linkage or bias bar if so equipped. The secondary linkage may be a second rod or a cable. If a rod is used, it must conform to the specifications of the primary rod. If a cable is used, it must be at least 1/16” in diameter and clamped with a two (2) screw flat plate (CIK Style) clamp or a swag style crimp fitting.
