The tradition continues for Road Racing Series at Daytona
12.28.2009 – Tracks on the Dunlop Tire Road Racing Series driven by Mazda schedule tend to change from year to year. Facilities like New Hampshire, Summit Point and Charlotte were once staple events on the Road Racing tour, only to be replaced by new or revamped tracks such as Kershaw, VIR and New Jersey. However, Daytona Int’l Speedway – with exception to Indianapolis the most famous track in America – continues as the host of Race No. 1 for each new Road Racing season. Daytona has been hosting the Daytona Championships for the National Road Racing Series for over 30 years, and each year road racers from all over the eastern half of the country and even some from the West Coast head to the Sunshine State for another running of this esteemed event. While leaving family and home for nearly a week around the holidays may sound crazy to some, many kart racers admit they’d have no idea what to do with themselves if it wasn’t for Daytona KartWeek by Cometic Gasket.
