Already announcing their 2021 Speedway Dirt Series earlier this week, the World Karting Association (WKA) is pleased to confirm their Manufacturers Cup program while excitement builds for both that and the Road Racing division. With the first event for all series taking place in Daytona Beach, Florida over the dates of December 27-30, the 2021 season is just on the horizon.
“The Manufacturers Cup will feature significant changes in 2021 with only three event weekends and no drop races,” explained Kevin Williams. “Understanding the costs in attending national level events, a reduction in event weekends will save competitors money while easing the stress on teams for a heavy national racing calendar. We take pride in helping the racer, and we feel that this is a friendly schedule that will promote competition with three evenly spaced event weekends.”
Williams continued, “We have built the 2021 Manufacturers Cup as truly a Manufacturers Cup program. The series is open to all brands of karts as well as IAME, ROK and LO206 engine platforms. We will also be announcing an affordable engine lease and/or purchase program for our first Man Cup round in Daytona for all Micro and Mini ROKKERS courtesy of our good friends at ROK Cup USA in the very near future. And finally, all WKA Manufacturers Cup classes will utilize only one set of race tires and the ability in some cases for drivers to show up with just one chassis and have three days of racing at an affordable cost.”
All 2021 Manufacturers Cup classes are National Points Classes and will run for National Championships except Kid Kart, Margay Ignite Classes, 206 Junior and 206 Senior. Kid Kart, 206 Junior and 206 Senior will run in Rounds 2 and 3 but awards are event awards only, no National Championship. Margay Ignite classes will run in Daytona only.
