The following Tech Updates from the 2020 Competition Year were erroneously left out of the printed 2021/2022 printed Tech Manual, but were approved by the Board of Trustees, and are effective immediately.
January 23, 2020

213.3.1 – BRIGGS CADET 206

Add: Class runs on same tires both days. New set required at Qualifying.

TM 104.3 ENTRY FOR PRACTICE
Change to:
A competitor must be entered in at least one class before going onto the track for official practice, qualify, or racing. Failure to do so may result in disqualification for that event and possible suspension. There may be only one entry per class per driver in any WKA sanctioned events. If the driver participates in an unassigned practice session, the Race Director may take punitive action such as causing the driver to skip a practice session or start the race at the rear of the grid. For Specific Road Race rules see section 363.12.
TM 105.12 CONDUCT BEYOND EVENTS

Including actions that damage the image of WKA, persons associated with WKA, or Karting as a whole.
TM 115.3 HELMET SUPPORTS
Add:
Helmet supports are optional for Senior and Master aged drivers in Sprint Racing.
TM 106.9 PRACTICE OUT OF CLASS
Change to:

TM 205.1 BRAKES GENERAL
Add:
There must be a second link between the brake pedal and the master cylinder that will function in the event the primary linkage fails. The secondary linkage must not interfere with the operation of the primary linkage or bias bar if so equipped. The secondary linkage may be a second rod or a cable. If a rod is used, it must conform to the specifications of the primary rod. If a cable is used, it must be at least 1/16” in diameter and clamped with a two (2) screw flat plate (CIK style) clamp, a swag style crimp fitting or a similar, equally secure clamp. Many current chassis manufacturers install their own version of these backup cables/rods. These OEM cables/rods are acceptable and meet the intent of this requirement.

A Participant must participate in 5 scheduled weekend events to be eligible for year-end awards.

Change to:
Classes with only one weekend race are best 5 finishes of scheduled races. Classes with F1 and F2 scheduled races each event, is best 10 finishes combined out of all available F1 and F2 class scheduled races.
