The following Tech Update was approved by the Road Racing Committee and is effective immediately.
Section 476.6 / 487.6 – Roll Cage
ADD:
The overall cage layout can be either the conventional “champ kart” design, or a “sprint car” design described as follows:
– The “champ kart” design consists of four main tubes – a rear hoop, two down tubes, and a front cross member between the down tubes.
– The “sprint car” design is also four main tubes but consist of two side tubes that run front to back, and two cross rails that connect the two side tubes in front and behind the driver’s head.
Both styles must comply with the height, width and other measurements that are listed in the following specifications. “Sprint Car” designs may follow Top View Side Bar separation specifications at the Rear View Hoop Width section so the vertical tubes can remain vertical. Both styles must also include the other additional safety tubes that are also listed in the following specifications.
