Already making gains in their established partnership, ROK Cup USA and the World Karting Association (WKA) and aiming to grow the younger level classes. In an unprecedented engine rental program, Micro ROK and Mini ROK competitors will be able to enter the WKA Manufacturers Cup at the Daytona International Speedway and receive a Vortex ROK engine to use for the event weekend for only $350. Class entry without the use of a WKA supplied engine will remain at $150.
“I spoke with Garett Potter earlier this week and we decided to see what we could do to work together and help grow the younger classes in karting,” expressed WKA’s Mike Tetreault. “Looking to give back to the sport, an engine rental program was established to ensure a driver could receive an engine to compete in the event for only $200. Drivers that would like to enter and use their own supplied engine, the entry fee will remain at $150. Entry fee and the use of an engine is $350. The future of karting is in the current Micro and Mini ranks and we need to do what we can to help grow those classes and establish a strong base for the future.”
To be eligible for the engine rental program, competitors must pre-enter HERE before December 10th, 2020. There will be no engine rentals available after the 10th of December. Additionally, please remember the WKA entry tiers with tier one and the $350 entry and engine offer ending on November 28th and tier two engine rental and registration offer of $400 ending on December 10th. At the end of the race weekend, Micro and Mini ROK competitors that are interested in purchasing the engine they use can do so by confirming their purchase for an additional $1000. Purchasers must be the renters of the engine
“It is the perfect try before you buy scenario,” added Potter, Director of ROK Cup Promotions. “We are doing what we can to help get new racers to the WKA program and aboard our ROK engines. We will have ROK Cup USA staff on site to assist with any rental engines, tuning and maintenance. Additionally, the ROK Cup USA sales truck will be on site for parts sales and support.”
With the 2021 WKA Manufacturers Cup season opener less than two months away, now is the time to get prepared and ready for some fun in the Florida sun.
