WKA Daytona Sprint Championships Entries Open this Sunday

With a new karting season on the horizon, the World Karting Association (WKA) Daytona Sprint Championship entries open this coming Sunday. Taking place at the famed Daytona International Speedway, a mere few weeks before the ROLEX 24 Hours of Daytona, karters will invade the area with three national programs kicking off their 2023 season during the WKA Kartweek festivities. With more than $14,000 in cash and prizes slated for the much-anticipated program, racers can begin their quest for victory this Sunday when online registration opens.

“Registration will open this Sunday, and we invite teams and competitors to get signed up,” expressed WKA President Kevin Williams. “We are expecting another jam-packed race and as we continue to evolve our registration process, we hope the 2023 signup program is easier and more streamlined than ever. With the addition of more than $14,000 in cash and prizes, we are expecting an influx in entries and looking forward to some intense wheel-to-wheel racing.”

Completed during the registration process, all Micro and Mini entries will be required to purchase one five-gallon drum of VP MS98 fuel. All KA100 entries will purchase two sets of Vega Green race tires and one drum of VP MS98 fuel. The Margay Ignite entries are separated per day and will not be bundled in a fuel and tire purchase program. All 206 entries will purchase fuel from a designated gas station to be announced closer to the event weekend while all two-cycle competitors will be required to use the spec oil of either Xeramic or Motul.

Williams added, “A WKA membership will be required for everyone to enter so this is a great time to purchase your annual membership card and be set to enter any WKA event throughout the 2023 season. Additionally, we will limit class entries on a few classes due to some time constraints we have in Florida.”

With limited daylight hours, a time-specific schedule, and the ability to allow every registered entrant to compete in every on-track session increasing the total amount of track time, Cadet classes will have a maximum entry number of 40 while Junior, Senior, and Master classes will be limited to 44.

Class Entry Limits:

  • Cadets – 40
  • Junior, Senior, Master – 44
