World Karting Association Announces Prize Fund for Charlotte Summer Series Championship

Continuing to roll out plans for the new WKA Summer Series Championship at Charlotte Motor Speedway, World Karting Association officials are pleased to announce a lucrative prize package for teams and competitors. In a program that features no membership fees, a practice day prior to each and every race weekend and affordable entry fees, WKA is looking to hit the ground running with their new regional program.

“We have buttoned up a lot of the loose ends and look forward to our first Summer Series Championship race,” explained Kevin Williams. “We are excited for this new era and new chapter in WKA’s program and there is no better place to do it than in North Carolina.”

For classes that average seven entries or more for the course of the season, the championship point podium will earn the following:

First Place

  • Trophy
  • WKA Daytona Kart Week Entry
  • One set of Vega race tires
  • WKA Daytona driver’s wrist band
  • Championship ring

 

Second Place

  • Trophy
  • One set of Vega race tires
  • WKA Daytona driver’s wrist band
  • $25.00 Summit Racing Equipment Gift Card

 

Third Place

  • Trophy
  • Three WKA Daytona event bands
  • $25.00 Summit Racing Equipment Gift Card

 

During event weekends, the following prizes will be awarded:

  • Pole Position Winners will receive a colored track replica
  • All event class winners in KA100 Senior, KA100 Junior, Micro Swift and Mini Swift will get five gallons of Sunoco fuel
  • All other class winners will receive a TSRacing.com$25.00 gift certificate and a $25.00 Summit Racing Equipment gift card

 

Along with the already mentioned affordable event registration, pre-event practice days and no membership fees, WKA is also offering a 10% discount for any item that is in the competitors shopping cart upon checkout. This could include pit space, race tires, rain tires, fuel, oil and more. Additionally, WKA is offering steep discounts for Kid Kart registration to help build the future of the sport of karting and get them out to the racetrack on a more regular basis.

Williams added, “We have encompassed a split schedule for the racers allowing them to compete in more than one class on any given race day. The goal is to not only have this as competitive as a series as possible, but also provide some bigger prizes and family fun.”

While pre-registration is strongly encouraged to save time at the track and take advantage of the 10% discount, WKA will also take walk up entries on site.
