With the World Karting Association Charlotte Karting Challenge on the horizon, series officials have made some changes to the Manufacturers Cup side of the program. Removing one class from the run order and combining two others, all of WKA classes will see increased track time at the famed Charlotte Motor Speedway.
“Just like we did in Daytona, we removed classes that do meet a viable entry eligibility and instead of just taking that extra time and pocketing it, we give it back to our racers in more track time by adding heat races,” explained Kevin Williams. “I want to thank the 130 plus pre-entries we have already for the Manufacturers Cup and Margay Ignite Challenge and with that said, let’s go racing at America’s Home for Racing, the Charlotte Motor Speedway.”
Removed from the schedule will be the X30 Senior class as entry numbers did not meet the requirements to keep it on the docket. Additionally, Micro ROK and Mini ROK have been combined but will be scored separately. With these changes, WKA has also been able to add heat races for the Micro Swift category as well as the Micro and Mini ROK combined group, adding track time to the program’s youngest classes.

While online pre-entries are now closed, WKA is accepting walk up entries at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Thursday, April 15 at the tier two price structure. Same as it was online.
Additionally, WKA is reminding drivers that WKA does not sell tires and it is the responsibility of the racer to have the correct amount of tires needed to race.
